The Vlu Resort @ Calatagan, Batangas - May 18-20, 2012

This is the first time that I'm gonna out of town with my officemates at MeTC Br. 37. We're going at Calatagan, Batangas and one of the complainants in one of the election protest case that we're filed on our branch insisted that win or lose we can still go at their private resort, The Vlu Resort.

It's a Friday but we still went to work. We went to Eunilane after eating lunch for some snacks while on the road to Batangas and after that we head straight to get our things and  head to the van that we rented and drove to our destination.  We arrived there at around 5:30 p.m. as it was a few hours drive from the Quezon City.

The view when we arrived...
We unloaded our bags and put it into the assigned rooms. After that we went to the market to buy some mineral water, fruits and fresh seafood to cook for dinner. We saw Lago de Oro, the resort where Aga Muhlach is part owner and that is famous for those who love wake boarding aside from CWC (CamSur Water Sports Complex) in Camarines Sur. The dinner was tasty thanks to the caretaker of the resort.

While waiting for dinner...
Eating dinner...
Saturday morning was waking up early to buy fresh seafood to cook for lunch and some coffee, vienna sausage, corned beef  and hot bread for breakfast. We were brought to the middle of the sea through a raft. It was surprising that is was not so deep even if were in the middle of the sea and we went for a swim, take pictures and eat some snacks while waiting for our food to be cooked and be brought to us by a small boat. After that we went for a stroll as it was now low tide and the water has receded so much, we can now walk through the place where we have swam before. Amazing isn't it. There's no water now where there's water before. But don't worry the water will be back again in the morning and it will look like a beach again. We had dinner and stayed inside the room as it rained after we ate.

At the raft before swimming...

Our food for lunch...
Were still in the middle of the sea. See the water is so shallow now that it's low tide...
The receded when it's low tide so took a stroll...
We woke up early Sunday morning to have breakfast and buy fresh fish to take home because
it's so cheap here compared to the ones they sell back in Metro Manila. We freshen up and packed our bags and prepared to go to another town in Batangas to visit our Judge Bravo, our Assisting Judge.

Before leaving The Vlu Resort...
At Judge Bravo's house...
After eating lunch, having merienda and drinking kapeng barako at Judge Bravo's house in Batangas we head home as we saw that the sky is getting dark and looks like it's gonna rain hard. We stopped over for some pasalubong and we continued on our way. What an outing for us. We want to go back again.

Ate Mel's Birthday at Yamikix, Trinoma - May 15, 2012

This is Ate Mel's birthday celebration at Yakimix in Trinoma. This is my first time that I'll be eating at a Japanese eat-all-you-can buffet and the food was so delicious. All my favorite Japanese food are there.

We connived with the staff of the restaurant to greet her and sing the happy birthday song and they gave her a small cake for the birthday celebrant.

What an experience for me as I will be cooking my food on the table with a teppanyaki grill. Thanks for the treat Ate Mel on your birthday. I couldn't eat there alone because it was a bit expensive but it was all worth the money because the food was delicious.

Fancy Cakes & Crepes @ Matalino St. - May 6, 2012 4 Photos

We just went out for a snack after we heard mass and went to Fancy Cakes and Crepes at Matalino Street. We just wanted to try some place different to hang out aside from our usual McDonald's wi-fi tambayan every Sunday.

We ordered different flavored crepes and iced tea for our drink. We wondered why the cashier asked for our names when we ordered and much to our surprise we saw that our names  were written on the plate as an added design. It was quite a treat although we agreed that it is still not as good as the one we ate at Cafe Breton.

Me, waiting for the food...
Wrong spelling of my name but it's ok, it's still food to eat...

Christian Bautista's First Class (Outbound Expanded Edition) Coffee Table Book Signing and Performance, National Bookstore, SM North - April 22, 2012 31 Photos

This is one of Christian Bautista's book signing at National Bookstore in SM North Edsa about the launching of his coffee table book and album in one. It is entitled Chistian Bautista: First Class (Outbound Expanded Edition). In commemorating his 10 years in the show business as a singer he launch a coffee table book containing his pictures and a cd of his latest album.

I am one of the lucky people who gets to see him perform and be interviewed in person and I am seated near the mock  stage inside the National Bookstore. I also get to have his autograph and my picture taken with him. I am so lucky to meet one of my idol. Thanks Ian...

Gong Cha @ Araneta Center, Cubao - April 15, 2012

It's so hot here in the Philippines since it's still summer and one of the best way to cool down is to buy some ice cold coca cola or iced coffee, have some ice cream, fro-yo or halo halo.

Why not opt for the latest craze to hit the Philippines and a refreshing take on drinking tea aside from the well loved iced tea is to drink Milk Tea.

Many milk tea stores have sprouted all around, in the malls, in areas near subdivisions and schools. So many stores to choose from, from China, Taiwan, Thailand and even Japanese, it's so hard to choose where to buy aside from the different flavors that they offer.

One of the milk tea stores that I've tried is Gong Cha in Araneta Center, Cubao where they offer a unique blend of tea, milk and ice cream. That's right, it has ice cream that added a certain unique flavor to milk tea and it also gives a foamy and creamy texture to it that others don't.

I've been addicted to drinking hot or iced coffee blends at Starbucks and this another drink for me to alternate with coffee aside from juice drinks and soft drinks. There's still more stores and flavors left for me to try. Happy Milk Tea Drinking...
